You are hereby invited to the Economics Department Seminar on "Community-Based Wildlife Management failing to link Conservation and Financial Viability". Our speaker for this seminar is Dr. Michael Nokokure Humavindu
Dr. Humavindu is currently the Deputy Permanent Secretary: Industrialization and Enterprise Development at the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and SME Development. Previously, he served as Director: Economics and Sector Research at the Namibian Competition Commission. Previously he also served as the Manager of Research at the Development Bank of Namibia and as an Economist in the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in Namibia. These work experiences has exposed him to developing skills in industrial policy, SME development and finance, natural resource economics, environmental valuation, cost-benefit analysis, financial deal structuring, policy and product development, project and infrastructure finance appraisals and micro and SME credit delivery strategies development.
He has also published some of his research output as peer-reviewed journal articles. He is currently serving on the Ministry of Environment and Tourism's Sustainable Development Advisory Committee. He also serves on the Boards of Namdeb Holdings and Agribank. Dr. Humavindu holds a PhD (Economics) from the University of Umeå, Sweden, an MSc (Finance & Investment) from Durham University, United Kingdom and a MA (Economics) from Stellenbosch, University in South Africa.
