You are hereby invited to the Economics Department Seminar on “Towards identifying and estimating public expenditure on Gender Based Violence in Namibia”. Our speaker for this seminar is Dr. Omu Kakujaha-Matundu.
Dr Omu Kakujaha is a PhD holder from the Institute of Social Studies in the Netherlands. He is having 20 years of university teaching in economics. Over the years he also taught trade remedy courses at the African Development Bank in Tunis and the WTO. He has completed a series of consultancies for the Namibian government, as well as international institutions in the areas of land and environmental management.
His research covers a range of economics topics including trade, competition policy, land and environmental management. In the past year he joined a group of social scientists from the Multidisciplinary Research Centre to interrogate the scourge of gender based violence (GBV). His contribution looked at the economics of gender based violence, with particular emphasis on estimating public expenditure on gender based violence.
