eLearning makes use of the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) to create a virtual learning environment for students. Moodle LMS is based on the socio-cultural learning philosophy and social constructionism that involve social interaction and the creation of learning artefacts in social settings. This supports student-centred and collaborative learning.
The Virtual Learning environment is a composite of various tools, some of which are listed below:
- Moodle LMS
- Course authoring (Xerte)
- Plagiarism detection (Urkund)
- Lecture recording
- Live lecture delivery (BlueButton)
- ePortfolio (Mahara)
